Well, another 4 pounds and 3 inches off! I was worried this week because I couldn't "see" the big difference I was able to see last week, but this morning's weigh-in went better than I expected. I have to keep in mind that my goal is 2 - 3 pounds a week, and not worry if that is all I lose. But so far, I have been able to exceed my goal, and it feels great! We even traveled (by car) to Chicago and back this weekend for Dave's Aunt and Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary. I didn't give in to any of the multitude of sweets and rich foods that were around, and I didn't eat any fast food on the long trip there and back! A HUGE step for me!!!
I also got a haircut earlier in the week for the trip. My hair was really getting wild and wiry! A nice haircut always gives me a boost, so I'm really glad I did it.
I have to say, I have been so touched and overwhelmed by all of your posts and emails. So many of you have brought tears of gratitude to my eyes. I can't thank you enough for your love and friendship, and for the amazing support and encouragement you've offered. Thank you so much! I hope you can hang in there with me ... I'm 18 pounds down, but I still have 77 pounds to go!!!

Way to go!! That's great, and good for you for avoiding temptation. I'm working on a similar goal myself. I'll keep checking in with you for inspiration. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteWow, you can alredy see the difference in the pics. Yeah, you!!
ReplyDeleteGood for u. Road trips always make it difficult so you passed with flying colors. Don't get discouraged if you can't notice a difference, your insides will feel great and you will be in harmony soon.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! You wouldn't believe that mine is short now too!
ReplyDeleteI am go happy for you Lora! Stay strong, you can do this! I look forward to seeing your weekly blogs updates. You are an inspiration to all of us. I do miss your visits, maybe we can meet during the week and walk together. YEAH YOU!
ReplyDeleteLora,
ReplyDeleteGood for you! It probably won't take as long as you imagine to really make the change in your diet and lifestyle. Old habits are hard to break until you get new ones. It's been about 10 years now since I lost 52 pounds. I remember looking at those polished elevator doors and being surprised to see a different me. Take care and keep up that losing spirit!

That's great Lora! Eating right while traveling is a huge challenge but you conquered that mountain. You're doing great ... be proud. Way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Lora! I love your blog, your new hair looks great. So, week 2 will you start walking?
ReplyDeleteLora, Wow that is fantastic! You can do this. My favorite thought I have on my fridge is, "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." I often say it to myself at different times of the day! In your pictures you can already see lots of progress. I know you can do it!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great!!! One thing I noticed is the way you are standing in your most recent picture - you have more confidence and are holding your head a little higher. When it comes down to it that is the most important thing: how you feel about yourself. Keep up that confident Spirit and remember that even in those weeks where you may not lose or get the results you want, what's most important is how you feel. And right now you are feeling great! so keep it up!
ReplyDeleteYOU GO GIRL!!! You are doing so awesome! Your pictures show your amazing progress already and your new hair cut is SUPER SASSY!!! I'm excited to follow your progress. Keep it up girl! We sure miss you guys! Thanks for including me!

Hi sweetheart. All I can say is WOW you look great with each picture but I also need to say this is so typical of you. When you identify problems and issues you must tackle, though they are not without challenge, you meet that challenge head on and pursue your goal with grace, intelligence, sensibility, and optimism.
ReplyDeleteMy precious daughter, you set the perfect example that your children trust to follow and in the process inspire us all.
All my love,
Mom
Thanks for being such an amazing example. Your courage is inspiring.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!
